That myth that people don't change is a tough one. It's funny to hear how young people laugh at "older" people -- not realizing that you can't stop yourself from getting older. You can take care of yourself, etc., but absent death you will one day be that dreaded 35, 40 or 50 year old woman. ha! And guys, your perfect bodied woman can't keep that up forever, she will be imperfect at some time, she'll be somebody's mother and maybe somebody's grandmother and you'll be making love to her, a grandmother. Which is what grandmother's do. Oh the horror!!! But here's the thing no one tells you, as a woman if you marry and it doesn't work out, depending on your age and whether you've had children, that was your one shot at it, whereas men can sometimes get a complete do-over, starting over with a never married bride and make new babies. Stats, odds, biology, finances and society work against women doing this. Just saying. But I'm not against marriage. Love, marriage, the whole nine. Go for it. But play close attention to timing. Close attention. Timing is everything.

Hi Roxanne, I agree that men do have better odds at a second chance but if they never learned the lessons taught in their first marriage, they'll be doomed to repeat it! This is not a unique experience for men...women are equally likely to repeat the same mistakes; after all, love can blind us from reality!

The hardest was for my husband to adjust to being at the bottom of the "taken care of" list. If you are considering marrying a "baby", he's the wrong guy to have kids with!
